3 . Principle of Vibratory Bowl Feeder :
The basic concept of a vibratory feeder can be experienced by pouring sand through a funnel and tapping it gently to ensure continuous flow. Vibratory feeders, regardless of their size, operate on the same fundamental principle.
These feeders utilize gravity to pull dry material downward and employ vibration to move the material from side to side. Typically, only dry material is used in this type of machine since it may not move in a fluid motion and requires assistance from vibrations.
In a vibratory feeder, large quantities of material are introduced through a cone-shaped opening at the top and flow out from the narrow bottom. A pill counter serves as an excellent example of a vibratory feeder. In this case, a large quantity of pills is dumped into the top opening of the machine. Gravity pulls the pills downward, while the vibrations facilitate smooth flow, preventing congestion or blockage in the feeder. Once the correct number of pills is reached, the machine stops and resumes operation when a new bottle is ready to be automatically filled.
