Low voltage protection
Also known as loss of voltage protection and undervoltage protection. A protection measure that automatically disconnects the circuit when the supply voltage disappears or falls below a certain value. Its function is to avoid accidents caused by the sudden start of the device when the voltage is restored; and to avoid damage due to the bare operation at low voltage. At low voltage, the equipment can only maintain its operation when the current is increased. The current increases, and the heating temperature is naturally intensified. If it is light, it will damage the equipment and cause fire. For important protection objects, the device consists of voltage relays, time relays and circuit breakers, and the protection performance is relatively accurate. For general low-voltage equipment, common fuses, contactors and loss-of-voltage (undervoltage) trip units are used as protection devices. [1]
Low voltage protection means that the low voltage protection relay is connected in parallel at both ends of the power supply. When the voltage is low, it will automatically trip to separate the circuit breaker switch. Low-voltage internship installation: low-voltage equipment such as thermal relays, fuses, and intermediate relays.
When the voltage of the power supply bus of the motor is reduced or interrupted and restored, the low voltage protection is usually installed on the secondary motor to prevent the motor from being automatically started at the same time. When the power supply bus voltage is low to a certain value, the low voltage protection action removes the secondary motor and restores the power supply bus voltage to a sufficient voltage to ensure the self-starting of the important motor.
