Diatomite is a chalky, sedimentary rock consisting mainly of an accumulation of skeletons remaining from prehistoric diatoms, which are single-celled, microscopic aquatic plants. The skeletons are essentially amorphous hydrated or opaline silica occasionally with some alumina. Diatomite is
primarily used to filter food processing products such as beer, whiskey, and fruit juice, and to filter organic liquids such as solvents and oils. Diatomite also is often used as a filler in paint, paper, asphalt products, and plastic.

Diatomite Rotary Kiln Applications
The diatomite rotary kiln is developed based on diatomaceous materials and belongs to the category of building materials equipment. It can be used for dry and wet production operations of different diatomaceous materials. The diatomite processed by the rotary kiln can be applied in various industries.
- The calcined diatomite is an ideal raw material for particle preparations and pesticide powders. It makes the overall production of the formulation more stable, maintains the efficacy for a longer time, and has certain fertilizer effects. It has a strong adsorption capacity for various nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in compound fertilizers and has a certain slow-release effect in soil, which is beneficial to the overall growth of crops.
- After high-temperature calcination, diatomite can also be used to produce high-quality silica cement, which improves the flow and plasticity of the overall equipment in the cement concrete production process and enhances the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the entire cement diatomite.
- It can also be applied to waterproofing rolls and high-asphalt content fillers to improve the anti-slip, wear resistance, and compression resistance properties of asphalt, significantly extending the overall service life.
- In insulation materials, the high-temperature calcined diatomite has high overall porosity and excellent properties such as insulation, heat insulation, sound insulation, and corrosion resistance, making it widely used.
