AKD emulsion, a type of reactive neutral sizing agent, can be directly applied in the neutral papermaking process in factories. It not only endows paper with excellent water resistance and the ability to resist the penetration of acid and alkaline solutions but also imparts brim soaking resistance.
The utilization of AKD emulsion can enhance the physical properties of paper. As a result, it has been extensively employed in the production of diverse paper types, including art base paper, electrostatic autographic transfer paper, double colloid paper, non - carbon paper, archival paper, photo base paper, yew base paper, stamp base paper, and napkin.
AKD neutral sizing agent addresses issues like yellowing and brittleness that were previously caused by acidic sizing.
Simultaneously, it can boost paper whiteness, smoothness, and physical strength. Additionally, it can significantly improve the printing adaptability and ink absorptivity of paper, thereby keeping pace with the development of inking technology. Moreover, it can decrease the load of white water, cut down energy consumption, and enhance the working environment.

Usage method:
The product can be added directly to the thick pulp or, alternatively, added to the mixing chest after dilution. It can also be applied in tub-sizing following the drying of the previous paper layer. For normal sizing, the addition amount should range from 0.1% to 0.2% of the absolute dry pulp; for heavy sizing, it should be 0.3% to 0.4% of the absolute dry pulp. A double - retention system consisting of cationic starch and polyacrylamide should be used simultaneously. The cationic starch should be of the quaternary ammonium type, with a degree of substitution greater than 0.025%, and its usage should be 0.6% to 1.2% of the absolute dry pulp. The polyacrylamide has a molecular weight in the range of 3,000,000 - 5,000,000, a concentration of 0.05% - 0.1%, and its usage should be 100 ppm - 300 ppm. The pH value of the pulp should be maintained between 8.0 and 8.5.
