The motorcycle piston is one of the key components of the engine. It is located in the engine cylinder and connected to the crankshaft. The piston reciprocates up and down during engine operation, generating power by compressing the mixture or combustion gases.
Motorcycle pistons are usually made of high-strength aluminum alloy materials to ensure their lightweight and durability. There is a raised part on the top of the piston, called the piston crown, which forms a sealed space with the cylinder. The piston also has one or more annular grooves for installing piston rings to ensure sealing between the cylinder wall and the piston.
The working process of motorcycle piston is as follows: Suction stroke:
When the piston moves downward, the valves in the cylinder open, allowing mixture or combustion gases to enter the cylinder. Compression stroke: When the piston moves upward, the valve closes, compressing the mixture or combustion gas, increasing its pressure and temperature. Explosive stroke: When the piston reaches its highest point, the ignition system triggers the spark plug to generate sparks, igniting the mixture or combustion gases, thereby generating an explosive force to push the piston downward. Exhaust stroke: When the piston moves upward again, the exhaust valve opens and exhausts the exhaust gases produced by combustion out of the cylinder.
