A radar level sensor is an instrument used to measure the height of a liquid and convert it into an electrical signal. The level signal output can then be used by other instruments to display, monitor, record or control the level.
A radar level sensor is a measuring device that emits and receives high frequency radio waves (microwaves) to measure the distance to the surface of a liquid material.
Radar liquid level sensor technology transmits pulses of high-frequency electromagnetic waves, typically in the microwave spectrum, and receives waves reflected from the surface of liquids. Measure the time it takes for a microwave pulse to travel the distance between the transmit antenna and the target surface and return to the receive antenna again.
How does radar level measurement work?

The device works according to the FMCW method (FMCW = Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave). Electromagnetic pulses in the GHz range are sent to the medium at varying frequencies between 77 and 81 GHz. Since the transmitter constantly changes the frequency of the transmitted signal, there is a frequency difference between the transmitted signal and the reflected signal. Subtract the frequency of the reflected signal from the frequency of the signal transmitted at that time, resulting in a low frequency signal proportional to the distance from the horizontal. This signal is further processed for fast, reliable and highly accurate level measurement
