1. Why Do We Call It 358 Mesh?
The name "358 mesh" derives from 3" X0.5"XGauge 8, namely the hole pitch is 3"(76.2mm) X 0.5"(12.7mm), and the wire gauge is gauge 8 in the SWG system.

Tec-Sieve 358 welded mesh fence panels have been universally accepted as the most secure form of welded mesh panels as they can bring the maximum perimeter protection to a site where the high-security protection is required.
Tec-Sieve 358 welded mesh is made of mild steel wire or galvanized steel wire (and can then be PVC powder coated in some particular RAL colour) or stainless steel wire. It has an aperture configuration of 76.2 mm vertical wire (also called line wire) pitch by 12.7 mm horizontal wire (also called cross wire) pitch. This means there is a clear opening between horizontal wires of less than 9 mm - inadequate to insert hand tools for cutting the mesh.
With this design, there is NO access to the nut or bolt when using the Spider Clamp.


The mesh apertures are finger/toe proof and the closeness of the horizontal wires makes for a mesh panel almost impossible to grip.
