Herringbone twilled weave is also called a "broken twilled weave", it is a special twilled weave type, in which the weft wires are woven in the twilled pattern but the direction of the weave is reversed at regular intervals. This process results in a zig-zag type design and this is very helpful to prevent the mesh sides from forming angles that are not 90°.

In this weave type, the directions of the twilled are reversed every 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 millimeters, depending on the width and specified use of the mesh. And by this way, balanced strengths of the mesh would be created without any external elements that could deform the mesh. This kind of weaving type is more commonly used when the wire mesh is to be deep-drawn, or for very fine wire mesh for which plain weave is not available. This type of woven mesh is very stable, stiff, and strong, due to its attractive design.
