Product Introduction

The product-type water-swelling waterstop strip is a new type of waterproof material that has both the properties of general rubber products and the ability to expand on its own when in contact with water. Its water-stopping and waterproofing effects are more reliable than those of ordinary rubber waterstop strips.

1. After the rubber comes into contact with water, it will produce an expansion deformation of at least 2 - 5 times. It will fill all the irregular surfaces, cavities, and gaps in the joint. At the same time, it generates a huge contact pressure to completely prevent leakage.
2. When the joint or construction joint is displaced and the gap exceeds the elastic range of the material, ordinary rubber waterstop materials will lose their water-stopping function. However, this product can still stop water through water absorption and expansion.
3. Using water-swelling rubber as a plugging, sealing, and water-stopping material not only saves on usage but also eliminates the characteristic of elastic fatigue caused by excessive compression in general elastic materials, making the waterproofing effect more reliable. It also has good water resistance, chemical resistance, and aging resistance.
4. It is mainly used for waterproofing of the joints in the segment lining of shield tunneling construction, deformation joints and construction joints of buildings, waterstop strips, and waterproofing of joints between metal components and precast concrete components.

Product Application

The product-type water-swelling rubber waterstop strip is widely used for waterproof sealing of deformation joints, construction joints and pipelines passing through and filling in civil and architectural structures. It is also applied to the joints of reinforced concrete in shield tunneling, waterproof sealing gaskets, interface materials in pipe jacking projects, interface sealing of box culverts and underground pipelines in open-cut construction, as well as waterproof sealing in water conservancy and hydropower projects and waterway civil engineering works.

Precautions for Construction

Before the concrete is poured, the swelling rubber should be protected from rain and contact with objects with moisture. In order to ensure its reliable contact with the concrete before construction, the construction surface should be kept dry and clean, and the surface should be leveled.

Note: According to the design requirements, a slow-swelling water-swelling rubber waterstop strip can also be fabricated.
