400G MTP/ MPO Patch Cable 16 fibre Polarity B OM4 (50/125) 16 core fiber optic cable

Complete Connect’s M800 Series MTP (MPO) patch cables use the MTP® 16 fibre connector and can be used to connect 400G QSFP-DD and OSFP transceivers that transmit 8 x 50G channels over 16 fibre cores.
Using the low loss MT Elite® 16 fibre ferrules and Corning Clearcurve® glass, Complete Connect offer 400G MTP (MPO) patch cables with guaranteed performance and compatibility to all transceivers.
These MTP patch cables are part of our M800 Series and offer customers a complete network that supports a 400GBASE-SR8.
A note on MTP® and generic MPO connectors
MPO is the generic name for “Multi-fibre Push-On” connectors as opposed to single fibre connectors such as LC or SC. There are many manufacturers of MPO connectors each with varying degrees of performance. MTP is a brand of MPO connector made by a US company (US Conec).
MTP connectors have very high performance levels (both optical and physical) and ensure that higher data rates are achievable across complex networks.

Compatibility with QSFP-DD transceiver modules

1. All QSFP-DD 400GBase-SR8 transceiver modules have ports with male connections (with guide pins).
2. The MTP cable needs a female connector (no pins)
3. Transceivers from the leading switch manufacturers such as CISCO, Juniper, Extreme, HP, Dell, Arista and Brocade all use an MT ferrule.
4. All Complete Connect 400G cables use the MT Elite ferrule within the MTP 16 fibre connector. This provides the best optical connection with all major QSFP-DD transceivers. Some MPO connectors wont perform as well.

Cleaning MTP® cables and transceiver ports

1. Complete Connect recommend using an IBC® MTP® cleaning tool for cleaning all MTP cables and QSFP-DD transceiver ports.
2. Complete Connect will supply this free of charge on orders of 10 or more 400G cables

Maximum transmission distances

1. The IEEE standard states that 400G can be transmitted at the following distances: OM3 less than 100m; OM4 less than 150m.

Testing using Loopback adaptor cables

1. 400G loopback cables can be used to test individual components or networks.
