Aluminum conductor AAC Lupine 91/4.21mm overhead bare conductor all aluminum stranded
AAC conductor is also called aluminum stranded wire. It is made from electrolytically refined aluminum with a minimum purity of 99.5%.
Concentric Stranded Aluminum Conductors (AAC) are formed by stranding one or more strips of hard-drawn 1350 aluminum alloy. These conductors are used in low, medium and high voltage overhead lines.
AAC is widely used in urban areas where spans are often shorter but conductivity requirements are higher. Aluminum's excellent corrosion resistance makes AAC the conductor of choice in coastal areas.
Due to its relatively poor strength-to-weight ratio, AAC has limited use in transmission lines and rural distribution where it is used over larger spans.
All aluminum conductors are composed of one or more strands of aluminum wire.
