Yokohama Ship Fender Structure

Yokohama ship fender consists of outer rubber layer,synthetic-tire-cord layer, and inner rubber layer. The outer rubber layer is made of special compounds that are strong with high tensile strength and tear strength to better protect the fender from the damage of severe weather conditions and hard usage. The synthetic-tire-cord layer is a composite tire cord with cross shadow lines, which is designed to distribute stress evenly. While the inner rubber layer is specially designed to seal the internal air and prevent any leakage.

Yokohama Ship Fender Classification

Yokohama ship fenders are produced with two initial pressure ratings, which are pneumatic 50 (P50, initial internal pressure 50kPa) and pneumatic 80 (P80, initial internal pressure 80kPa).

With chain and tire net covering the fender body, the Yokohama ship fender can reduce the damage of friction and abrasion caused by direct contact. Hydropneumatic Yokohama ship fender is usually used as a bumper with submarines and other semi-submersibles platforms. It can be installed vertically in the water cause it’s filled with air and water inside and equipped with a counterweight.
