Marine Mooring Marker Buoy Floating Type Deep Water Offshore Navigation Buoys
Marine Mooring Marker Buoy
Marine mooring marker buoy is an object floating in the water and used as a locator or warning point for ships in the sea. These buoys are usually bright (fluorescent) in color. Marine mooring marker buoy is a type of buoy that can moor a ship in deep sea areas. The weight of mooring buoys is heavier than general buoys.
The buoy-based system must be moored to ensure it remains stationary. Marine mooring marker buoys are usually moored by stainless steel mooring lines, bottom chains, and anchor lines. It is recommended that the buoy be moored in the deepest part of the waterway to ensure the most comprehensive survey. This allows multiple measurement depths and will best reflect the characteristics of the entire body of water.
Additional Attention Points of Marine Mooring Marker Buoy
- In many coral reefs, marine mooring marker buoys surround the shallowest coral reef area or are located on the ocean side of the coral reef. Approach the marine mooring marker buoy from either side of these shallow waters and always turn to the outside of the buoy ring. Do not drive directly over the shallow reef to reach the buoy.
- You should maintain idle speed/no wake in the vicinity of the marine mooring marker buoys. Do not meander among the buoys and watch for swimmers, snorkelers, and diver bubbles.
- If there is no buoy, it can only be anchored in the sand, not in the coral. Always check to make sure your anchor is not dragging and the anchor chain is not in contact with the coral.
- Smaller boats are encouraged to tie off to one another, thereby allowing larger vessels access to buoys.
- Sailboats should not leave up large sails as steadying sails when on a buoy; this puts too much strain on the mooring’s eyebolt.
- The buoy positions have been separated to provide clearance for most ships when moored under normal conditions. To avoid grounding, be careful when approaching or strapping to the buoy. Containers larger than average must be checked for depth to avoid contact with the bottom.

Advantages of Marine Mooring Marker Buoy
1. Tough, impact-resistant polyethylene plastic (HDPE / MDPE / LLDPE)
2. Handle can simplify installation of pipeline buoy
3. Molded bolt holes for easy float installation
4. Monolithic structure
