Product Description
The smoked oak engineered timber flooring
Smoking refers to the natural oxidation/ageing process of the oak timber, where the boards are fumed or ‘smoked’ for three days with ammonia vapour. This vapour chemically reacts with the tannin in the oak and causes it to deepen in colour to a level that the oak would otherwise reach naturally over 20-30 years. The advantage of smoking is that it achieves a natural colour which permeates all the way through the 2-3 mm wear layer. The smoking also gives the boards an attractive tonal variation from pale to mid tone plus veining within individual boards. These finishes rely on the tonal variance of the smoked base colour to achieve a finish and subtlety that is not possible with other staining processes.
Yorking Hardwood supply the smoked oak engineered timber with the standard dimenssion 190*1900*15/3mm , 190*1900*12/3 or 2 .We even can make it 21mm thick with 6mm wear layer .
