The new China national standard defined clear requirements for the safety of EV, which promotes the rapid growth of mica materials. China implemented the "GB 38031-2020 Safety Requirements for Power Batteries for Electric Vehicles" on January 1, 2021, requisting that after the battery cell thermal out-of-control, the battery system will not catch fire or explode within 5 minutes, reserving safety escape time for the driver & passengers. Among the many battery protection materials, mica materials exert an important role in the battery protection solutions for mid-to-high-end models with their excellent properties such as high temperature resistance and insulation.

Mica products are mainly used as thermal control and battery protection materials for power batteries in the EV industry. Mica are important protection materials for thermal control of power batteries in new EV. Mica insulation materials are the last line of defense against thermal runaway of batteries, ensuring that people in the vehicle have enough safety escape time.

Cover plate: In the event of battery explosion, flames, energy, and temperature can be effectively separated by mica board, exceeding 5-minute thermal prevention time required by China national mandatory standards.

Separator: Used for insulation and heat insulation between battery modules,

It can effectively prevent lost-thermal-control of a single integrated module from spreading to other modules.

Insulation Pad: Mica insulation material is used for insulation between battery cells. It can separate the battery cells from the assembly according to the multi-dimensional design of the battery module structure, and has the advantages of tight fitting, simple & easy for assembly.
