Hastelloy N / UNS N10003 Hastelloy N rod has excellent oxidation resistance to hot fluoride salts in the temperature range of 704 to 871℃. It has good oxidation resistance in air. Hastelloy N is a nickel base superalloy composed of nickel, molybdenum, chromium and other elements, with a nickel content of about 72%. Hastelloy N has good oxidation resistance, and its melting temperature range is 1300-1600 ° f (704-871 ° C). In more than two years, the n value of Hastelloy n will relate to the most useful fluoride in high temperature environment. Hastelloy N alloy has good oxidation resistance in air. Metallographic examination showed that the elements in alloy n remained in the range of 1100 to 1600 ° in solid solution, and there was no embrittlement tendency in tensile test.
Hastelloy N has good weldability and can be easily welded. The hot working range of the alloy is 1600 and 2150 ° f (871 to 1177 ℃), and it has been successfully extruded and further processed into high-quality seamless steel tubes for manufacturing, welding and drawing. After solution heat treatment, Hastelloy n alloy parts can be hot processed or cold processed.

Solution heat-treatment is recommended after hot or cold working of HASTELLOY® N alloy parts. For sheet and plate, this is accomplished by soaking at 2150°F (1177°C) [sections up to 1/4 inch thick] and then cooling rapidly in air, or at 2165°F (1185°C) [sections 1/4 inch and thicker] followed by waterquenching.
