​Product Description

The alloy 90/10 plat iridium, containing 10 per cent iridium, has very good all round manufacturing characteristics: it can be cast, welded, machined and stamped; it is ductile and malleable; can be hardened through working; and does not readily oxidize. The alloy has been used in "nonstandard" thermocouples, electrical contacts and for electrodes in medical research. The alloy is harder and mechanically stronger than Platinum.

This wire features a 90% Platinum and 10% Iridium composition and is widely used in the assembly of microelectrode probes. Iridium, a Platinum group metal, is very dense and hard, imparting added strength to the wire.

For producing medical laboratory equipment.Some uses for platinum iridium alloys include pacemakers, used to treat heart disorders that result in slow or irregular heartbeat, usually contain at least two platinum-iridium electrodes, through which pulses of electricity are transmitted to stabilize the heartbeat

4. Used as electrodes in the field of rare earth equipment.

5. Uesd in the manufacture of weapons.

6. Uesd for the thermalcouple protection tube in the high temperature furnace.
